The Calling

At its core, Mathwhiz Academy is not just about Math. It was built from a place of calling. It is about removing fear, restoring confidence, and helping students realize their full potential. It is about partnering with families and taking an intentional approach to each child’s development. It is about creating a space where students are supported not only academically, but personally.

The ‘Math Whiz’

The name “Mathwhiz” itself began as something personal. Mikiela Campbell was often called the “Math Whiz” by those around her because of her ability to help others understand what once felt difficult. Over time, that identity became a vision, not for one person, but for every student who walks through the academy. What began as a personal gift for teaching Mathematics grew into a shared vision between a Christian couple who chose to step away from traditional career paths to pursue what they believe God has led them to do.

Academic Excellence

From an early age, Mikiela Campbell was known for her strength in Mathematics. While attending Immaculate High School, she not only excelled academically but also discovered a deep love for teaching when she joined a peer tutoring program. That experience revealed something deeper: this was not just a skill, it was a calling.

Her journey continued with excellence as she attended Campion College and displayed strong performances and regional recognition, being in the top 5 students for CXC CAPE Pure Mathematics Units 1 & 2. She went on to study Actuarial Science at the undergraduate level and became one of the youngest tutors accepted into her university’s Math Department staff. She later pursued a Master’s degree in Economics. Yet, despite a clear path toward corporate success, one thing remained consistent: she never stopped teaching.

Technological Innovation

At the same time, Kevoy Campbell was on a different path, one rooted in innovation and systems.

With a background as a navigational officer, sailing gas vessels across the world, he later transitioned into business and technology after responding to his own calling. He began developing advanced digital solutions, including AI-driven automations, communication systems, and operational workflows designed to help organizations operate more efficiently and serve people at a higher level.

His work focused on removing inefficiencies, improving communication, and creating seamless experiences through technology.

When this expertise was brought into the vision of Mathwhiz Academy, it transformed what was possible.

It allowed the academy to go beyond traditional tutoring by building a structured, technology-enabled learning environment. This integration of technology ensured that Mathwhiz Academy could scale its impact while maintaining a high level of quality, consistency, and care for every student and family it serves.

Paths Align

When their paths aligned in purpose, Mathwhiz Academy was born. Together, they combined academic excellence and technological innovation to build a system that goes beyond traditional tutoring. A system designed to support students and parents holistically. Through structured learning, diagnostic testing, progress tracking, automated communication, and online platforms, they created an environment where students can thrive with clarity and confidence.
